General
Bowling is a sport you play with a ball with three holes in it. The weight of the balls is given in lbs (1 lbs corresponds 0.5kg). The bowling-lanes are separated in four different zones. First you have the approach (length 15 feet) with five until 7 dots in one row for orientation (theres a minimum of five and a maximum of 7 dots per and a minimum of two row up to a maximum of three rows per approach). After that you have the foul line witch visible separate the approach from the lane. You're not allowed to go over it or you're making a foul. After that you have the lanes (length 60 feet). On the lanes you have oil witch can be put on in different oil pictures. The oil is there for protecting the lanes and is a difficulty from this sport. The lanes are also separated in three different zones. The Heads part which is the front part with stronger wood on the ground, because this is the part where your bowling ball lands. The Pines part with less stronger wood, to get more grip between the ball and the lane and the Backend which is the only part that is not covered with oil so the ball gets much more grip to the lane. On the lanes you can find seven orientation arrows. The area behind the lanes is the pin zone with 10 pins, each pin is around 3lbs. At the left and right side of the lane and the pin zone is the gutter.
Bowling in Germany
In Germany you can join and play in different national bowling teams. Your age defines in which kind of team you play. If you are 18 or younger you play in the youth team, in the age from 19 to 49 you play in the normal team and from the age 50 and higher you play in the senior team. If you play in one of those teams you represent Germany in the europe and world championships. To get in one of those teams you have to play in the german league where you can get chosen by the german national coach. In germany there are 18 different federal state teams. Because some federal state teams got split there are 18 instead of just 16 teams.
Bowling in Hessen
In Hessen there are 28 different bowling clubs. Most of them in area around Frankfurt. To take place in a tournament you have to join one of those clubs. If you want to play in the national team for Hessen and represent it in the german league, you have to play in the league of hessen and get chosen by on of the coaches. In Hessen there are seven different teams in which you can play. Youth C and B (Age 0-14), Youth A (Age 15-18), Junior (Age 19-21), the normal team (Age 22-49), the senior team (50 and older) and the team for disabled people.

Tournaments I played so far
Next to some single, women-double, mix and youth - adult tournaments I've also played in three Hessen tournaments in which I won the bronze medall in 2014 (B Youth) and the silver medall in 2016 (A Youth). Besides this took part in german league in 2014 (B Youth) for the very first time. In 2015 I won the Club tournament and achieved the title "Youngest Club Champion in the history of the Club".
